Yoga is a blessing

Yoga is a blessing in my life and I hope to share this blessing with many through opening a Yoga Studio.  The path seems dark at this time but I know when the time is right the doors will open and I will open a fantastic studio to bless many and bring them the joy, peace and love only Yoga can bring.  I had no idea just over a year ago when I dedicated myself to Yoga I would be this close to my dream.  I will keep moving, being faithful to Yoga and let the Universe take care of the rest.

Pleasure and Bliss

Pleasure, people and animals all seek it, our bodies and minds crave pleasure and society demands pleasure, instant self gratifying pleasure.  Pleasure induces happiness, entertainment, enjoyment, ecstasy, euphoria and bliss.  Pleasure drives us to avoid situations causing pain in the past.  Everyone's definition of pleasure is unique to them and individuals will experience different kinds or amounts of pleasure in the same circumstance.

Pleasure drives us to eat, drink, have sex, watch TV/movies, spend time with friends, take drugs, make money and many other things good or bad.  All of these things in the right place and time are good but pleasure can drive us to addiction, this is when pleasure can turn into pain and suffering.

Pleasure has become the god of choice in western society.  Motivations and choices are all driven by pleasure.  Advertisements tell us how good products are and how much pleasure they will bring to our lives.  Pleasure is good for you seek more of it we constantly told but this is not bliss.

Bliss can also be a source of pleasure, a pleasurable experience can induce a blissful, ecstatic state but true bliss goes beyond pleasure and changes our lives, our world view.  True bliss is a spiritual experience and opens us up to the highest state of consciousness.  A blissful experience brings us into true consciousness where we come into oneness.  We realize there is no attachment to any thought, idea or thing but everything is one and we are intimately connected to everything and everyone, there is no you and I there is only us and we are all part of the One, we are wholeness, pure bliss consciousness.

In bliss consciousness we reach a state of deep knowing, all is one and oneness is the core foundation of every being, everything and every atom.  This experience revolutionizes us forever and calls us to live bliss, be bliss, teach bliss, showing others the truth of oneness, of bliss consciousness.  We are simply accessing out most natural innermost spiritual essence an essence witch suffers long and is kind, this essence does not envy, and does not showboat, and this essence is not puffed up but it bears all, believes all, hopes all and endures all.  Once we have know bliss consciousness, we mist trust each moment and experience to bring us closer to bliss, to bring us deeper into Divine oneness.

Pain and Suffering

Pain is an alarm system for our body.  When something happens to threaten the well being of our body or mind pain shouts out "hey there is a problem, fix the problem NOW".  This motivates our behavior to heal and repair the area where pain is coming from.  If we do not act on this motivation then suffering starts.  Suffering comes from a repeated failure to relieve the cause of pain.  Anything numbing or even avoiding the cause of pain undermines our ability to correct the behavior leading to more pain and suffering.

Pain is our friend, acting like an early warning to our body and mind.  If we pay attention to what the pain is telling us and take the time to correct the problem, suffering will not happen.  Too often we make excuses for pain in our lives and avoid the cause of pain.  This only leads to more pain and complications set in leading to eventual long term suffering.

We have all had pain, the question is how do we deal with our pain or do we let the pain grow into suffering?  Once we recognize the cause of pain and suffering are we willing to make the corrections needed to alleviate the symptoms?

Only with mindfulness and motivation can we break the cycle of pain leading to suffering.  This is one of the great gifts Yoga brings into our lives mindfulness, present moment consciousness to see out lives for what they really are.  Yoga offers us the opportunity to live lives with minimal suffering because ewe are table to identify causes of pain sooner and be motivated to find correct solution to the cause.
