Yoga is a blessing

Yoga is a blessing in my life and I hope to share this blessing with many through opening a Yoga Studio.  The path seems dark at this time but I know when the time is right the doors will open and I will open a fantastic studio to bless many and bring them the joy, peace and love only Yoga can bring.  I had no idea just over a year ago when I dedicated myself to Yoga I would be this close to my dream.  I will keep moving, being faithful to Yoga and let the Universe take care of the rest.

Pleasure and Bliss

Pleasure, people and animals all seek it, our bodies and minds crave pleasure and society demands pleasure, instant self gratifying pleasure.  Pleasure induces happiness, entertainment, enjoyment, ecstasy, euphoria and bliss.  Pleasure drives us to avoid situations causing pain in the past.  Everyone's definition of pleasure is unique to them and individuals will experience different kinds or amounts of pleasure in the same circumstance.

Pleasure drives us to eat, drink, have sex, watch TV/movies, spend time with friends, take drugs, make money and many other things good or bad.  All of these things in the right place and time are good but pleasure can drive us to addiction, this is when pleasure can turn into pain and suffering.

Pleasure has become the god of choice in western society.  Motivations and choices are all driven by pleasure.  Advertisements tell us how good products are and how much pleasure they will bring to our lives.  Pleasure is good for you seek more of it we constantly told but this is not bliss.

Bliss can also be a source of pleasure, a pleasurable experience can induce a blissful, ecstatic state but true bliss goes beyond pleasure and changes our lives, our world view.  True bliss is a spiritual experience and opens us up to the highest state of consciousness.  A blissful experience brings us into true consciousness where we come into oneness.  We realize there is no attachment to any thought, idea or thing but everything is one and we are intimately connected to everything and everyone, there is no you and I there is only us and we are all part of the One, we are wholeness, pure bliss consciousness.

In bliss consciousness we reach a state of deep knowing, all is one and oneness is the core foundation of every being, everything and every atom.  This experience revolutionizes us forever and calls us to live bliss, be bliss, teach bliss, showing others the truth of oneness, of bliss consciousness.  We are simply accessing out most natural innermost spiritual essence an essence witch suffers long and is kind, this essence does not envy, and does not showboat, and this essence is not puffed up but it bears all, believes all, hopes all and endures all.  Once we have know bliss consciousness, we mist trust each moment and experience to bring us closer to bliss, to bring us deeper into Divine oneness.

Pain and Suffering

Pain is an alarm system for our body.  When something happens to threaten the well being of our body or mind pain shouts out "hey there is a problem, fix the problem NOW".  This motivates our behavior to heal and repair the area where pain is coming from.  If we do not act on this motivation then suffering starts.  Suffering comes from a repeated failure to relieve the cause of pain.  Anything numbing or even avoiding the cause of pain undermines our ability to correct the behavior leading to more pain and suffering.

Pain is our friend, acting like an early warning to our body and mind.  If we pay attention to what the pain is telling us and take the time to correct the problem, suffering will not happen.  Too often we make excuses for pain in our lives and avoid the cause of pain.  This only leads to more pain and complications set in leading to eventual long term suffering.

We have all had pain, the question is how do we deal with our pain or do we let the pain grow into suffering?  Once we recognize the cause of pain and suffering are we willing to make the corrections needed to alleviate the symptoms?

Only with mindfulness and motivation can we break the cycle of pain leading to suffering.  This is one of the great gifts Yoga brings into our lives mindfulness, present moment consciousness to see out lives for what they really are.  Yoga offers us the opportunity to live lives with minimal suffering because ewe are table to identify causes of pain sooner and be motivated to find correct solution to the cause.

Half Way

Half way done with the teacher training at Yoga Shala in San Antonio with primary teacher Rossella Rossi, so far class has been amazing and challenging.  A transformation is taking place in each and every person in the class.  The time has come for us to start teaching, and we start with each other, probably the biggest challenge since each of us knows what should be done in a pose and what sequence should come next in a class.  The next seven weeks should be a great opportunity for growth and spiritual development. Let the Universe blow love, peace and blessing on this class and bring success in all our endeavors after the class.

Peace, Love and Yoga

Dedication

I must dedicate this quest for Union with the Lord, to the Lord.  This means I must dedicate all my actions to the Lord so I will reflect the divinity of the Lord to the world.  Taking this Yoga teacher training has opened my eyes yet again to the glory of God and his preeminence in all things.  In the Lord we truly live, breath and have our being.  I dedicate my Yoga practice each time to the Lord in hopes some small good will come from my burning, bending and stretching.  Peace, Love and Yoga (PLaY) unto the Lord and he will take care of the rest.

Teacher Training

Three weeks in to Astanga Yoga teacher training with Rossella Rossi as primary instructor and guru ( www.yoganutritionlife.com), I can only say what a beautiful training and journey this class is on.  I know I have not posted to this blog in a while but now I am really going to try and make weekly updates again and grow this no-thing into its full potential.

Manifesting love from your stillness.

Life is so wonderful and good but how often do we take the time to share this with others through love?  Do we let the inner love we have known in stillness radiate out of us into others lives.  Have we become the beacon of joy we want to be?  So many times we fall back into old habits and ways of thinking, like no want wants to know my joy or share my love.  This is so far from truth.  Truth is we all need love and want more love and joy in our lives.  Let the love you have known in stillness manifest more love to others and you.  Become a love and joy manifester, let the I AM stillness out.

FInd happiness in you.

No one can make you happy but you.  True happiness comes from within and is generated from a place of peace and love.  You find this happiness by being your true self.  Once you find this happiness go out and share yourself with the world.  Change the world with your happiness.

Attraction

Attract what you want into you life.  Manifest goodness, good ideas, health, wealth into your world.  Lean to be the magnetic attraction of the ideas, the people the things you want in your world.  Think good thoughts and good things will happen to you.  You are the creator of your universe, be the master of what you create.  Attract good, love and peace.

Manifesting doors

Doors open for all of us all the time, sometimes we step through them and other times we walk past or even close the door.  Does this make one door better than another door?  No, each door is unique like each of us is unique.  All the doors have good and bad opportunities inside of them, just like each of us has good and bad inside of us.  How we choose to manifest what is inside of us, good or bad will make the experience of every door unique and hold endless possibilities, we just have to step inside and let the world we manifest unfold for us.

Garbage out

When the garbage comes out of you at the moment you least want, you cannot let the garbage coming out of you define you or be part of you any longer.  Yoga is all about living in the present, being present in every moment, every breath.  The garbage is the past, say your sorries and move into the present again.  Living in the past or the future will not help you be a better person in the present.  Take some cleansing breaths and meditate for a few minutes and you will be back fully in the present.  Stay in the present and move closer to the Yogi you want to be.

Yoga and self

Yoga brings us to the real self, independent of the body, a drop from the ocean of the divine.  The real self is eternal and indestructible.  You are your real self and Yoga brings us to complete union with the divine.  Opening up your mind to endless possibilities.  With Yogic meditation you become more conscious of the reality of you and the divine as one, united with all and in all.

You are what you eat.

This is not a new idea but truth remains the same all the time.  With Yoga you really need to become mindful of what you are eating and when you are eating.  Take the time to prepare fresh healthy meals and do not eat just to be eating this is a dangerous habit.  The better you eat the better you Yoga practice will be and the two will feed off of each other.  A good healthy Yoga practice will help to regulate your body and change the way you eat, at the same time good eating will help promote a deeper Yoga practice and more toned body and mind.  So you really are what you eat.  Eat, sleep, breath Yoga.  Live healthy.

Yes a Yoga today!

Finally had time to do some Yoga again today.  My body was in shock without my daily Yoga routine.   Funny how such a simple thing as a workout can change your whole perspective on a day.  Yoga always makes me happy, like sunshine or rain in the desert makes me happy.  I know for sure my body is addicted to Yoga, every cell needs the Yoga.  Yoga is my food and water.

Travel Yoga

Making time to do Yoga while you travel can be a challenge.  You must be firm in your commitment to your practice and set time aside even when you do not feel like taking time for Yoga.  You will be happy with yourself if you make the time and do Yoga even when traveling and there is not always a great spot to do your practice on a daily basis.  After you return home you will be glad you took the time do Yoga and you will be happy with yourself.

Deeper

As you move deeper into Yoga and meditation, taste the liquid honey joy, the still silent vibrations, the quite noise.  Deep inside you, inside of everything the vibrations of life are humming.  Crying out for you to hear their love and peace and manifest this into your world.  Bring the deep out, the honey joy of peace and love vibrations coursing through everything in existence.

Yoga in you.

Each of us has a place inside of us ready to do Yoga.  A place wanting to do Yoga and become more than we already are.  Yoga is the begging and end of each of us because Yoga brings us to a place of communion with the divine.  Let the Yoga come out of you, open your mind to the divine.

Meditation change

Every time you meditate you change a little and the little adds up to a lot over time.  Take the time to meditate and the change will come.

Change with Meditation

Meditation will change your life, as a part of your regular Yoga practice meditation will help you focus and bring peace into your whole body.  The more you do Yoga and meditate you will learn to operate from a place of bliss.  This bliss will leak our of you into others lives and they will know you are a change being and this makes others want to know this bliss and know why you have so much goodness in your life.  Meditate for more life, more joy, more bliss.

Become one.

The ultimate goal of Yoga is to become one with God.  Every work out should bring you one step close to the merge into ultimate bliss consciousness with God.  Be mindful in your workouts, let your temple become the place where God is.

Yoga or lunch?

So would you rather have a good hour of Yoga or a lunch with friends?

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Yoga the merge

The ultimate goal of Yoga is to merge with God.  Each time you do Yoga should be an attempt to draw closer to your divine self and the ultimate goal of becoming one with divine.  As you concentrate on breath body connection and bringing you body more in line with the holy.  Yoga is all about knowing yourself and knowing God in you.  Use it the be, just as God is.

Yoga is beautiful!

Yoga is such a beautiful activity.  When you practice everyday you see and learn more of Yoga's beauty and how it changes you from the deepest part of your being.  The path is like no other journey you will take and will bring you to places inside yourself you never would of imagined were there.

Yoga is...

1.2 Yoga is the control (nirodhah, regulation, channeling, mastery, integration, coordination, stilling, quieting, setting aside) of the modifications (gross and subtle thought patterns) of the mind field.
(yogash chitta vritti nirodhah)

Pain

Your pain is real and you must learn to work through the pain.  There is no easy answer or cure sometimes for the pain we experience.  Yoga can help easy some pain and help you learn to deal with the deep scars you have.   Still this takes time and prayer.  Make each Yoga day a day to move closer to wholeness and out of pain.

Hard day.

Was a hard day, my left arm and shoulder have been bugging me for sometime with carpal tunnel and this is making Yoga hard to do.  Does anyone have an answer out there?

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Can you explain?

Can you explain how Yoga has changed you?  The change starts from the first time you step onto a Yoga mat and begin to warm up.  Then you make the commitment where Yoga will be more important to you than other things in life.   You will do Yoga over taking a lunch, you will do Yoga over eating dinner on time.  Yoga becomes something more, Yoga becomes your life.  You realize deep inside every cell of your being has been wanting what Yoga brings to you but just found out.  Then you ask why did I wait so long to start my path into Yoga.

Yoga like water

Water is essential to life and so is Yoga.  No other exercise routine has had this impact or drawn me into its fold like like Yoga.  Now my body craves the work out like the parched riverbed the river.  When I do not manage to work out I notice a difference in everything I do, life just is less.  The fullness and completeness Yoga brings to my life can come to anyones life and maybe, your path is not Yoga but we all need this completeness.  Yoga like water is what I need, what do you need?

Hard day

I had a really hard time working out this morning.  I got up with a pinched nerve in my back and the pain was with me all day.  The Yoga helped work out some of the kinks but I still was stiff all day.

8 days of Yoga

I only had time for a short workout this morning but plan on a good 40 min to hour work out tomorrow.  Still even the short 20 min work out was much better than just getting up an starting the day.  Yoga alway puts life into perspective for me.  I feel more grounded in reality and truth whenever I start a day with a Yoga workout.

The Witness and your workout

Every workout is seen by the Witness, are you honoring the Witness in your workouts?  Are you finding the still place at the end of your workout to commune with the Witness.  Yoga is all about bringing your whole being to the workout and becoming more aware of who you really are as a person.  Make sure you are allowing time to connect with the Witness with each workout.

Day 6 Fighting the lazy

When you get up and your mind is trying to tell you, "you don't need to do Yoga today."  How do you fight this lazy urge?  Yoga will happen today.  I keep telling myself, yet I am still sitting here on the couch.  As soon as I am done making this post I am going to do some Yoga.  Let me know how you fight the lazy day, or the I am to busy day, to do Yoga or exercise at all.

Blessings to you

Nat

Had a great work out after fighting the lazy.  Fighting the lazy makes you feel even better after finishing a Yoga session.

Calming Breath

When you are doing Yoga and breathing properly it is amazing what you can do.  You can manage the pain of holding a pose just through concentrating on your breathing.  Moving the pain out of the location you stressed in your Yoga pose.  Keep breathing in an out, slow steady breaths will calm your mind and your whole body.  A calm mind and body leads to a better deeper workout experience.  Breath in, breath out, do Yoga and live a fuller life.

2 days on the path of a life time journey.

A short work out this morning but still good.  You always feel better about your day and life even with just a few minutes of Yoga.  Your whole outlook changes with some deep breathing, sun salutations and meditation.  This morning Om Mani Padmi  Hum was the mantra.  Today is going to be a great day, one day closer to the jewel of consciousness.

Breathing in your workout.

364 days to go, had a great workout at the gym today.  The Yoga instructor does a great job of challenging you but keeping you from being over challenged.  One of the most important things in any workout is breathing and one of the reasons to love yoga is the emphasis on breath.  Full breaths, all the way in and all the way out, to keep you body fully oxygenated and the blood flowing to all the organs and joints.  No other work out does this as well as Yoga.

365 day path into Yoga

Yoga such a simple word but once you start practicing this path what a life change.  I only started practicing this path seriously in the last six months and now I want to share my journey with you.  My plan is to share a 365 day Yoga blog, how it changes me, and the world I live in.

Today is day one, 365 days left:

I started to day meditation for about 30 minutes on the Gayatria and the did a short 40 minute Yoga workout.  I always feel like a new person when done with meditation and a Yoga workout.  My body feels whole and complete with all the oxygen flowing through every nerve and fiber.  Every second of my work out I offer up as a prayer from my temple to the Creator who runs through all life and is our breath.  The experience is divine beyond explanation.  My mind and body are moved to a place of total worship and peace.

If you find this blog, I hope you enjoy this path with me.  Check back tomorrow for more.
