Essential oils are the most powerful substance a plant produces. Plants create essential oils to promote health and safety. When a plant has a predator, is injured or feels under threat essential oils are produced. They are the health and well-being agent for all plants on Earth. Not all essential oils on the market are equal. They might not be created from plants, they are man made. They might be diluted and of lesser quality. When buying essential oils, read the label, make sure what you are getting is pure therapeutic and medicinal grade essential oil.


Since you will be using the essential oil on your body, taking them internally, or inhaling the oil. Knowing what is in the essential oil you are purchasing is very important. Disappointed?

Like anyone I do not like to be disappointed. The feeling is not pleasant and can lead to any number of other  uncomfortable feelings and emotions. Disappointment can lead to anger, hurt, and sadness. Learning to not attach an outcome to any giving action or situation is one of the best ways to leave disappointment behind forever. The problem is how do I learn to not attach an outcome to my thoughts and actions?


Learning to bounce back and let the disappointment go is key. When I realize I have attached an outcome to an event or action I have taken, I try and clear my mind of any desire for a specific out come and say to myself let what will be, be. I still have not been one hundred percent successful, I am human after all. Learning non attachment has helped me to limit my times of disappointment.


The other problem with disappointment is looking back. I want my focus to be on the road ahead and when I let disappointment drag me down and think about what could have been. I am using my precious life energy on something that I had dreamed up but is not real. I might have placed an expectation for a great outcome to an event to only be disappointed. Then I spend time thinking about what could have been. Letting go, not looking back will also help to keep disappointment to a minimum. Look at the road ahead, focus your energy on the present moment and disappointment will disappear.

Positive Affirmations

Did you know that 60-70% of self-talk is negative? People who are able to change their self-talk from negative to positive make changes and improvements in their lives faster than those who continue with the profusion of negative self-talk. Another fact about positive affirmations, people who write down their positive affirmations and review them at least every other day are more likely to fulfill their positive affirmations.


Being positive minded is extremely important for success in life. When a person believes in them self and the abilities that they have to accomplish a task or a goal, backing up their belief with positive self-talk and affirmations, they will accomplish anything they put their mind too. Take the time to write down goals, dreams and affirmations. Review those goals, dreams, and affirmations at least 3-4 times a week. When a person take the time to do these actions, they are choosing success, happiness, and abundance in their life.  


When a person let's go of beliefs, fears, and negative thought process that are holding them back and replaces them with positive affirmations, they are going to be successful. When a person repeats the positive affirmations until they become impressed on the subconscious mind, great things will happen. The subconscious mind controls the decisions and actions a person takes to a great degree. The subconscious mind will accept as true what a person keeps saying to it. Take time and write down goals, dreams and positive affirmations today. Start reviewing those same goals, dreams, and positive affirmations and claiming them, so they become part of the subconscious mind. Then happiness, success, and abundance will happen.

Swimming with the FIshes.

Fish pose is a wonderful pose to start a closing sequence in yoga and can be done with the legs in lotus or with the legs extended. To get into the pose you will need to lift your torso with your elbows and let your head fall back until the crown touches the mat or floor. Once you are in the pose just let your body fully enjoy the benefits by taking several deep breaths. Inhaling from the pelvic floor all the way up to the collarbone.


Some of the wonderful health benefits received from practicing fish pose on a regular basis are, the deep hip flexors and intercostals are stretched. The pose also helps to relive any tension in the neck, throat, and shoulders. The pose will also help to improve your posture, relieve stress, stimulate the organs of your digestive track and throat. Almost everyone should be able to practice the modified version of Fish Pose with very little difficulty and many great benefits.


Remember when entering into Fish Pose, support your weight with your forearms and elbows as you lower your head to the mat or floor. If you are a beginner you might only be able to rest your shoulder blades on the floor because they have not developed enough arch in their back yet but the arch will come with practice. Remember to keep the legs active while in the pose and to engage the internal locks or banda's to get maximum benefit from the pose. Now go out there and swim with the fishes.

When you are ready to eliminate unwanted habits or traits in your life, Kalesvara mudra will help. Backbends for Everyone

Backbends are great for health and well-being. A healthy spine will translate to a healthy life. An easy backbend to start with is Upward Facing Dog or Urdhva Mukha Svanasana in Sanskrit. Almost everyone can do the pose and if Upward Facing Dog is too much Cobra pose is a great variation but the legs are not lifted off of the mat.

Some of the benefits of doing Upward Facing Dog are increased strength in the arms, wrists, abdomen and legs. The pose also helps to increase the flexibility of the spine and flexibility is vital for over all health and well-being. Normally Upward Facing Dog is done as part of the Sun Salutation sequence that will open most vinyasa flow classes but the pose can be done as a stretch and strength building portion of any workout program. 

When doing Upward Facing Dog there are some fundamentals that should be practiced. Always keep the legs engaged and off of the floor. Keep the shoulders over the wrist and the wrist shoulder distance apart. Do not hunch the shoulders up around the ears, keep them relaxed but engaged in the pose. Always be mindful of the wrist in the pose. Upward Facing Dog will heal wrist injuries but if not done properly could aggravate or cause more harm. Now go and do some Upward Facing Dogging.

Shivalinga is an energy changing mudra. To do the mudra you place your right hand with thumb extended upwards in the palm of the left hand. The right hand is a symbol of masculine force that encompass the destructive and informational aspects of life. Life is all about cycles. The seasons cycle one after the other, the flower must die to produce fruit and our bodies must replace dead cells to continue to thrive. Without the process of destruction and renewal life would not be possible.


Use the mudra to transform any dynamic you are ready to change. Develop Balance

Balancing poses are some of the most challenging poses in a yoga practice. Sometimes balancing poses flow with ease and other times standing on one leg and holding balance is unbelievably challenging. The asana (pose) of the week is Vrkasana, or Tree pose. To do the pose you must stand on one leg and hold the other leg against the standing leg.


The benefits of vrkasana are many. Your inner thighs, groin and shoulder are all stretchered and strengthened. Your overall posture is also improved when you do this pose on a regular basis. Another great benefit of vrkasana is the calming effect holding the pose has on your mind and central nervous system. As you are developing a deeper sense of balance you are also increasing your mind body awareness.


If you are having difficulty balancing there are options, you can use a wall for support, place a finger on the wall to help stabilize your balance. You also should focus on an area that is not moving in the room to help you maintain steadiness. Another option is placing the toes against the floor to help you maintain your balance. Whatever you do when holding the pose do not place your foot against your knee. Placing the foot hear could cause knee problems and should always bee avoided. Time to practice, develop your balance this week by adding tree pose into your daily practice.

Raindrop Therapy is Essential

The Raindrop Technique was developed by D. Gary Young an aromatologist and an expert on aromatherapy. I prefer to call the Raindrop Technique, Raindrop Therapy because of the results I see in my clients when they leave a session. Everything about them changes and you can see they are in a state of total bliss. The application of the oils along with the loving intention behind the application allows the client to totally relax and renew in the session.


Raindrop Therapy is a type of energy work. The oils used are dropped directly onto the spine. Starting about six inches above the body, where the energy field starts surrounding the body starts. The essential oils are worked into the central nervous system with gentle feathering strokes along the back and spine. The essential oils are dispersed into the nervous system and throughout the whole body in this way.

The therapy will reduce spinal inflammation and kill viruses that hibernate along the spinal column and helps to straighten abnormal spinal curvatures. Three Warriors

Yoga is challenging, always. From the first time you step on the mat until the last time you ever step on the mat there is always something new to learn in yoga. Some of the poses that people find most challenging are the balancing poses. One of those poses is Warrior Three or Virabhadrasana III in Sanskrit.


Some of the benefits of Warrior Three are stronger back, legs, shoulders, and arms. The hamstrings and thighs are also stretched when you extend in the pose. Your chest expands allowing your lungs to bring in more oxygen. The increased oxygen levels will also help to improve memory and concentration. Another key benefit of practicing Warrior Three on a regular bases is increased core awareness, improved balance and coordination. 

As all yoga poses do, Warrior Three also quiets your mind, calming the nervous system as you take deep long in hales and exhales. The long inhales and exhales allow you to maximize the stretch when in the pose and help to stimulate your abdominal organs aiding in better digestion. Ready for Meditation

The beautiful thing about meditation is you do not need to be an expert to start. Starting is the most important step you can take on your life journey. The best way to start is to make a small commitment to a daily meditation time. At fist you might be only ready for two to five minutes of meditation but as your practice grows with daily discipline, you will see the fruit.


As you continue to practice you will be able to penetrate through the five layers of the sense. The process is gradual and takes time and effort on the part of the meditator but with patience all will come. The practice of meditation will enable the soul to diffuse completely throughout the body and enable the practitioner to understand true peace and joy.


When you are ready for deep meditation the sense will rest quietly and stop demanding gratification from the mind. As the process grows inside of you, your mind will detach from the senses and turn to the soul allowing you to experience spiritual heights. The effects of a daily disciplined meditation practice will allow this process to take place.
